Engineered Timber Floors

Most people love the look and feel of timber floors in a home, but traditionally they have meant lots of TLC (think scratching and denting from high heels, dog claws and scraping chairs!) and regular maintenance.

Whilst these solid plank floors are rare in new homes these days, you can still have all the warmth, character and charm of timber floors without the upkeep. Engineered timber floors have become a popular choice to bring the look of natural wood flooring into your home and, unlike solid timber planks, they can be used just about anywhere in your home!

Engineered timber - also known as floating floors or timber veneer - are easier to install, less expensive, hard wearing, long lasting, moisture resistant and more stable. So, what's not to like?

There are also a variety of thicknesses to choose from, which means it's easier to transition between different floor materials without the problem of different levels - from a tiled floor of a kitchen or wet area; or a thicker carpeted floor.

You should always look for good quality engineered timber that is also sustainably sourced and the thickness of your timber will also determine how the product is installed and whether or not it can be sanded back if necessary in future.

Once you've done all your research with Medallion's quality flooring supplier and decided on the right engineered timber floors for your new home, you can sit back and enjoy the look and feel of this of your beautiful flooring, without all the worry of a traditional solid plank floor.
