A 2017 trend you can tap into

Monday, 19th June 2017

Whilst taps are obviously a functional tool in both the kitchen and bathroom, they have also long been considered an essential designer item that can add interest and appeal to your home - particularly the kitchen where they are likely to be on show as part of your home's overall decor.

Depending on your home and your own personal preferences, there are a myriad of different tap designs available. Here we look at some of the biggest tap ware trends for 2017.

Black - the biggest trend in tap ware this year is matt black taps and mixers. Whilst they have been available for a while now, this year they really come to the fore, lending an edgy, designer feel to your home.

Mixer taps - mixer taps continue to maintain their popularity year after year, mostly due to their ease of use and stylish looks that blend with a wide range of home styles and decor.

Country/Traditional - obviously you need to have a more traditional home for these taps to work, but if country decor is the style you're working with, traditional tap ware offers that final icing on the cake, ensuring your home looks picture perfect.

Flexible spout - taking a leaf from commercial kitchens, flexible spouts are finding their way into more and more homes. With the popularity of wide, deep sinks the flexible spout can reach every corner and makes rinsing off those plates a breeze. The slightly industrial look also gives a cutting edge to your kitchen.

Timeless - we all ooh'd and aah'd over the rose gold and copper trends in tap ware but fads can have their day. If you're more concerned about a look that will last, choose a more timeless range of tap ware and there are many different styles and choices so timeless need not mean boring.
